Developers only. A Samsung TV will not install this from a USB stick or the browser. It needs Tizen Studio and sdb on a PC, Developer Mode switched on, and your TV registered to the signing certificate — a TV that is not registered refuses the package. Everyone else should wait for the Smart Hub listing.

Developers only. An LG TV will not install this from a USB stick. It needs the Developer Mode app from the Content Store, a free LG developer account, and ares-install on a PC. The developer session expires after about 50 hours and takes the app with it, so this is for testing, not for watching. Everyone else should wait for the Content Store listing.

1. On the TV, install the free Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore or Google Play.
2. Fire TV only: go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and turn it on for Downloader. If Developer options is missing, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and select the device name seven times to reveal it.
3. Open Downloader and enter flashstb.com/downloads/FlashSTB-FireTV.apk (Fire TV Stick) or flashstb.com/downloads/FlashSTB-AndroidTV.apk (Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV Cube), then choose Install. On Android TV, allow the install when the TV asks.
4. Launch Flash STB from your apps and sign in on the welcome screen with your Flash STB account.
5. Open Settings → Source and enter your provider's details.

Installing over an earlier version keeps your services and favourites. Version 2 is a new native app and installs over the earlier one; coming from a 1.x version, sign in once more and add your service again — your account MAC is unchanged, so nothing needs re-activating with your provider. Moving to or from the Google Play version? Uninstall Flash STB 8K first, then install the other one. The two are signed differently, so Android will not install one over the other — it reports App not installed. Nothing is lost: sign in with the same Flash STB account and your services and favourites come back from your account.
